SSFC tonight. Huge funding issues on deck.
This week has already seen the Native American campus group Wunk Sheek and the Campus Women’s Center get denied for the General Student Services Fund, $1.5 million of segregated student fees that groups can tap into for funding if they meet a strict set of guidelines designed to make sure the money funds groups that benefit the entire UW student community.
Still think ASM has no significance?
There has been some backlash from supporters of the CWC, and today they may get a chance to raise their voices before the committee at the meeting’s open forum. There is an opportunity for SSFC to reconsider the decisions in these cases today. If someone on the prevailing side calls for a reconsideration, there could be more debate. If not, then the decisions are final. However, these groups could still apply for grants from ASM.
Vets for Vets and the Student Tenant Resource Center will be receiving their decisions tonight while Adventure Learning Program and WisChoices will have their hearings today.
