Election Candidates Coming to You (With Pizza!)

October 6, 2009

The Student Elections Commission met tonight and discussed the best way to get students interested in the candidates and the election. After a great meeting, the two words that ought to interest you most? Free pizza. I just love saying it: FREE PIZZA.

The Commission had originally planned to give students a chance to ask candidates questions in a town hall. Instead, the SEC decided they’d bring the candidates to the students. Look for an ASM candidate booth next week on library mall. Candidates will be introducing themselves and taking your questions. Did I mention they’ll be handing out have free pizza? We’ll put out an update once we know when you can meet your future representatives (and get your slice).

In other news:

After the meeting, the SEC also tested the online voting–things went off without a hitch. Voting will open on October 19th (Monday) and run through the 21st (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. The commission will announce your newest reps at a press conference the day after the polls close. Watch for e-mails from ASM once the polls open to show you how to get to the ballot.
