ALRC, meet Austin Buerosse. Also–BIG DAY TOMORROW! Let’s roast a pig!
I’m not gonna lie: I don’t know how to pronounce Buerosse. But that’s not important. What is important is that he has been appointed to be the technical advisor to the city’s Alcohol Licensing Review Committee. He will replace Mark Woulf, who has accepted a voting position on the same committee. As a little something extra we included his original statement to Legislative Affairs, which served as the search and screen for this process.
Junger just told me he wouldn’t have appointed Buerosse based on just his statement but he was persuaded by the glowing review from Leg Affairs and by meeting with him face-to-face. So take it for what it’s worth. Use it as a starting point for debates, whatever you want.
Now onto the really sexy news for the day. Tomorrow is an ASM extravaganza!
First, we will be holding our kick-off tomorrow. The theme is “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAC!”
That’s right, our beloved building is turning one year old. And to celebrate we are having a pig roast.
No, you did not read that wrong–A PIG ROAST! Right on East Campus Mall.
6:45 p.m.–be there.
And Fundamentally Sound will be performing.
And you can meet with ASM committee chairs.
Come and learn about what we do or just come to bitch at us! This is your time to eat and be heard.
And as an encore we have student council starting at a super late time. I’ll post the agenda as soon as I get it tonight so keep your eyes out for that. There will be a liveblog and SC should officially appoint my two Assistant Directors to give me some help. So look out for a couple new voices here soon.
I am happily awaiting our newbies. You might recognize them: it’s Marie Puissant and Alicia Yager, both with Badger Herald ties, like myself.
This should be fun.
